Прошу помощи в переводе еще одной аннотации на английский язык.

ЛИТОВСКО-ОДОЕВСКИЙ ДОГОВОР 1459 ГОДА: ОБСТОЯТЕЛЬСТВА И ПРИЧИНЫ ЗАКЛЮЧЕНИЯ

В статье обращено внимание на необычную дату подписания литовско-одоевского договора 1459 г., которая не соответствует практике заключения известных литовско-новосильских договоров 1427-1483 гг. По мнению автора, причины скрываются за желанием сторон заключить этот договор. В этой связи предпринята попытка выяснить, чем это обоюдное желание было обусловлено и при каких обстоятельствах оно сформировалось.

Конечно, есть электронные трансляторы, но, должно быть, они безобразно переводят. А проверить я не могу за незнанием английского. Вобщем вот что получилось:

Давно назрел вопрос: в чем отличие слова "treaty" от "pact"? Как их следует применять? Например, в данном случае речь идет о межгосударственном договоре.

По-моему, лексической разницы нет. Есть лишь традиция употребления для той или иной ситуации. Но в данном я не вижу заметной разницы в употреблении. Слово treaty, по-моему, звучит попроще и распространеннее.

А так можно перефразировать?

Дело в том, что договоры литовско-новосильские (так я их обозвал), но они не между Литвой и Новосилем (который запустел), а между великими литовскими князьями и князьями новосильского дома.

И "в этой связи" в английском тексте можно убрать. Возможно так он будет проще.

Прошу уточнить перевод еще одной аннотации, которую я получил с помощью гугловского транслятора и небольшими собственными уточнениями.

Предпосылки к возникновению литовско-крымских отношений сформировались еще к началу правления хана Тохтамыша. Они были обусловлены тем, что в состав Великого княжества Литовского входили русские земли, которые также находились в зависимости от Крымского улуса Золотой Орды. Позже это привело к тому, что во время распада Золотой Орды великие литовские князья приняли активное участие в образовании Крымского ханства. В данном исследовании рассматривается попытка образования в Крыму независимого государства в 1420-1423 гг.
