Цитата: nwracorr от мая 5, 2012, 16:22you can say "I did it many times in the last year" and it would still mean within the last 365 days
So, as far as I can tell expression "in the last year" designates a period of last 365 days until today - not a specific moment in the past. Therefore it's used with the Perfect tense. And expression "last year" oppositely is specific, which designates a specific year, but not a time period, so is used with the Simple tense.
So my ultimate question is what time exactly the expression "last year" designates: the day exactly 1 year ago or just a year one less than current regardless of any days?
