What if Germany was divided after the WWI?
Hellerick
The November Revolution is suppressed, and the allied nations invade Germany until its capitulation.

After the war, Germany is divided into several countries, and the League of Nations appoints a "supervisor nation" for each country (occupying the country and overseeing the process of formation of a new civil government). The United States receives the North-East ("GDR"), the United Kingdom receives the North-West, France receives the South-West, and Italy receives Austria.

What are consequences?

Well, I doubt WW2 would ever start the way it did, or if there would even be another World War, but I'd say it'd probably end up like the scenario in Turkey after WWI, where it was split between the major empires and some land was given to Greece, and the Turks under Ataturk reunited Turkey and turned it into the modern nation that it is now; basically, The Islamic State of Europe (lol). I believe in Germany that an Adolf Hitler-like man would appear, maybe not as racist and supremacy-ish as Hitler was, but definitely as fiercely nationalist and loyal to his people as Hitler was. They would fight a revolutionary war, The war would probably last a couple years (say, 2-8) until eventually the parts owned by the US, and UK give their areas independence, though pretty much puppet states. France, Italy and Austria would probably be more reluctant, especially France, to give up their pieces of land, and would fight on, but eventually due to diplomatic pressure from the rest of the West, would give up their lands.

My idea is that the German states are rather independent already. Their status is similar to the one of Japan after the WWII: they have to tolerate foreign military presence, they aren't allowed to have a real army, but other than that relations with the "Supervisor nations" are friendly and mutually beneficial. In fact the foreign powers are competing for making "their Germany" better than "other Germanies".

That's not true. There is actually no military presence in Germany, apart from American airbases. For the other nations it became too expensive to hold their forces there. After the 2+4 contract Germany archived souveranity. If Germany was split up after WW1, I think WW2 might have happened, eventually even more severe and earlier. As the German thrive for unity over the whole 18th century was the big thing in Europe. Before, there were around 30 souverain German states, each with its own king or duke or as an free-citystate entity. The unification was perceived as the biggest archivement of all Germans. Destroying this by a peace-treaty for a war that Germany didn't start (at least that was what Germans felt) would some Adolf-Hitler-like figure allow to emerge even faster.

Err, I said nothing about OTL Germany here. Solely about the ATL German states.

Italy wouldn't turn to Fascism, for one, or at least not as quickly as it did. One of the Fascist party's key issues was that Italy was not given the rewards it was promised for partaking in the war. Getting Austria as a satellite state would probably be seen as suitable enough reparations.

Germany, meanwhile, would probably be partially re-unified, probably with a Risorgimento, Expedition of the Thousand-style reunification war. The "supervisor nations" would probably try to intervene to preserve influence, but I'd bet US and UK would just eventually let it happen, under the condition that they retain some level of control over parts of Germany and that Germany never produces a significant army - most likely by keeping Germany divided, but with a good level of autonomy.

Maybe it could be possible to organize some conflict between the states? Like they could be left to decide on their share of reparations between themselves.
