The thesis contains species composition of fish populations Stugna river. There are 34 species of fish in this river, 11 of them are aliens by translocation and natural range expansion.
Analyzed quantitative and qualitative composition of ichthyofauna of the river, other small rivers and whole Middle Dnieper from 1875 to 2013 years. Established, that since the beginning of the hydroconstruction on the mainstream of the Dnieper оf the 48 species of native ichthyofauna in Middle Dnieper basin remained 41. Against the background of reducing the number of native species, the number of alien species in the basin has increased gradually over the centuries from 4 to 14.
In the river Stugna alien species even took dominant position. The river markedly decreased the number of species in the Ponto-Caspian plains and boreal freshwater faunistic complexes that are native species of fish.
Formulated certain tendencies of change of ichthyofauna in the region, in particular: first vanish regionally rare, practically valuable and rheophilic species; changes in species composition take place in all rivers in parallel with the main streambed of the Dnieper; the saturation of invasive species  river is very high. The obtained data give reason to believe that modern small rivers, tributaries of the Middle Dnieper in particular river Stugna are most vulnerable to anthropogenic load. This is indicated by the minimum number of found species protected.
The protection of existing biotopes in the basin of the Middle Dnieper not able to return, save and increase the number of rare and extinct species of fish.
